The weather failed to dampen the buoyant sentiment of shoppers as they turned up in droves to SITEX 2013, Singapore’s longest-running IT and Consumer Electronics show organised by Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and managed by Singex Exhibition Ventures Pte Ltd.
Despite the heavy rain over the 4 days, visitors continued to stream in looking for the latest products and bargains, much to the delight of the exhibitors.
A spokesperson from Samsung says, “As the festive season is round the corner, SITEX has not only given us the opportunity to showcase our newly launched products but also a perfect opportunity to show and explain to consumers the many products we have at SITEX 2013, such as the Samsung Ultra HD 4K TV which has 4x higher resolution as compared to the usual HD TV, thus providing a better visual experience. In addition, we are also offering a complimentary 32-inch TV and a high-end sound bar with the purchase of a 55-inch and 65-inch S9000 TV, providing a perfect home entertainment solution.”
Mr Michael Chong, Sales Manager of Toshiba Singapore says, “This year at SITEX, we were able to showcase the newly launched Pro Theatre L9300 Series powered by second generation CEVO 4K Engine that allows you to enjoy a dramatic movie viewing experience with 4K UHD quality visuals even with 2K content bringing every scene to life. Another one is the L4300 series TV with Android allowing large-screen enjoyment with Android apps downloadable through Google Play and Audio Source filtering that provides a theatrical experience in your own home.”
Ms Michelle Lim, Marketing Manager of ASUS shares, “With the many highlights and activities going on at SITEX 2013, SITEX has managed to gather massive crowds which aided us in our booth sales as well as the chance to exhibit our products.”
Ms Elsie Chong, Windows Category Manager from Microsoft agrees, “SITEX has offered us the perfect opportunity to showcase our products to the mass market, allowing our customers to experience the latest and coolest Windows devices. We also launched our “Win with Windows” campaign at the show where consumers stand to win $1,888 CASH weekly and participate in our grand draw to win $18,888 CASH with the purchase of any Windows PC, Notebook or Tablet.
The second edition of Camera & Digital Media Zone, the dedicated one-stop segment for photography enthusiasts, continued to delight visitors as they walked away with the latest products and insights from the complimentary workshops.
Mr Kuah, Chairman of the Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) says, “We appreciate SITEX giving us an opportunity to be here. It has given us more exposure to the photographers and the general public, and we hope that SITEX will continue to give us full support in the coming years.” Mr Alvinn Lim, PSS’ Honorary Secretary echoes the same sentiment. “We are very pleased that SITEX has helped to raise the awareness and profile of the Singapore International Photography Award (SIPA) to an even bigger crowd.”
Making its second appearance at the show as well was the extremely popular Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) Singapore, where 64 of the world’s best pro gamers competed for the title of Intel Extreme Masters – Singapore 2013.
The audience was seen cheering on their favourite players as they followed the engaging live commentary while keeping their eyes glued to the projector screens spread out across the tournament area.
IEM’s Marketing Manager, Mr George Woo shares, “SITEX lived up to our expectations once again as the definitive IT consumer show in Singapore. Without the help of SITEX, we will not be able to hold such a huge event in Singapore, Singapore is definitely a great country to reach out to our audiences in South East Asia. We are very happy with the fantastic turnout and participation of the visitors who were not just following the IEM tournament, but trying their hand at some of our games as well. In addition, we were able to drive a pretty good amount of sales. With the good partnership between SITEX and Intel, we will definitely be back next year with a more exciting concept!”
Mr Michiel Kruse, General Manager, Singex Exhibition Ventures Pte Ltd, was elated with the success of the show. “SITEX has been held annually in Singapore for 25 years now, and we continue to garner strong support from exhibitors and visitors alike. This bears testament to the fact that we have our finger on the pulse of the market and are listening to what the market wants. We will continue to work closely with SiTF and our exhibitors to bring consumers a bigger and more exciting show next year!”
Look out for a more interesting edition of SITEX to be held at Singapore EXPO in the fourth quarter of 2014.
