Tiny (3 posts) Tiny I have bought via delivery also. And, ya, didn't manage to find any HP care pack either. When I'm trying to apply the 2nd& 3rd warrantly online by using all the code on the box itself, and it keep saying my code is INVALID. Their mails to me says their website is fixed up already, but how come mine still can not access ?

Go to this website : http://tinyurl.com/5mdykw

Click next and enter your Hardware Serial Number starts with CNDXXXXXXX,
Hardware product number is VF069PA

At first i call HP they told me it was U4819A but i try cannot ,then i key in VF069PA only it get through.

sab (1 posts) sab Hi, i order via delivery too, no HP care pack either.
just called HP, they checked my notebook s/n (which printed on a white label under the notebook itself), and they said it is registered. so there is no need to go online to register it. Think you should give HP a call. Hope it helps!

Brazzer (6 posts) Brazzer When i bought this notebook from the PC show 2009 they said this is the newest model, so after i bought i did a research around Funan IT Mall, and is indeed new model because it hasn't release in Singapore yet.

Hence you can't find this model in anywhere at the moment.

But i only received two items , there is no 3 yrs warranty card.
I will call hp tomorrow to clarify it.

wjsim88 (6 posts) wjsim88 is yours "cash and carry" or delivered? I'm guessing you chose the delivery. You might want to call newstead cos if I'm not wrong, they did the registering before delivering. I cash-n-carried so I have the card inside and had to register it myself.

wjsim88 (6 posts) wjsim88 Just in case anyone, like me, formats his comp to get rid of bloatware, I hope you read this first.

Download the realtek NIC driver from realtek website and save it on a thumbdrive first. Then after installing a clean vista, install the NIC driver so you can connect to your network using network cable. Then use windows update to install the wireless driver.

For those who are into linux, Ubuntu detects both the NIC and Wi-Fi card automatically ;)

wjsim88 (6 posts) wjsim88 preinstalled software that you most likely won't need but they'll run in the background anyway. like norman internet secuirty, motorola softstylus, hp series of nonsense like total care, wireless assistant, backup and recovery, trial microsoft office etc etc...

I had 87 running processes when the comp was fresh from the show. after a format, I'm running about 45.

as for your network problem, you have to provide more details. I can try if you add me on msn (mynickhere)@hotmail.com

slim (3 posts) slim hey, is there bluetooth, or do you have to opt for it when you purchase? (cuz in the brochure there's an asterisk beside the bluetooth word... wonder if it's available only if you pay extra.)

i checked the HP Singapore website for this laptop and bluetooth was not reflected under the "wireless connectivity" portion....

and btw, is there a remote control provided with this laptop?

for those who have bought and received their coms, can you let me know? thanks

By the way this remote can be mount on to your left hand side of your notebook.

About bluetooth i am not sure, but i think mine have bluetooth.

Cause i heard that other brand slash their price on the last day(which i think it is some what wrong)...... how about 1413? any news?
posted 16 Jun 2009 - Permanent Link
Desmond (10 posts) Desmond I asked the sales person, they said this is a newest model, but i called the HP and they actually refer me to another model driver dv4-1409tx under Software and driver downloads which will work for the same model for dv4-1413TX.

You can always call 62725300 for more information.

ht (1 posts) ht I bought the Hp Pav DV4-1413TX from Newstead Technologies Pte Ltd Funan Centre #03-04. The set was faulty, no sound. Immediately I wanted an exchange or refund from Newstead, but this shop would not take any responsibility. I have to deal with HP directly. Apparently, this shop says they would do exchange for all other models within 7 days, EXCEPT for this particular model, but then who knows? So you buy at your OWN RISK! ...
posted 15 Jun 2009 - Permanent Link
Desmond (10 posts) Desmond Bro did you checked your set properly really got no sound ?
Because i discovered that the sound/volume adjustments a scroll button on top of your keyboard.
Try use your index finger and scroll along the line, see got sound or not.

Oh sorry i forgot to remind you there is another mute button at the side of the scroll button, u press one time and try scroll the line.

That scroll button is to adjust the volume. Check again.
If really got problem then you call HP Directly and ask for 1 for 1 exchange.

They will probably ask you to bring it down for exchange.
Hope this help you alot.

Desmond (10 posts) Desmond The 2nd and 3rd year warranty is from the HP Care Pack Service that they give you after you purchase the notebook.

But you have to register first, i have problem register yesterday, they say my HP Care Pack Serial Number is invalid i don't know why.

When i contact HP they say that the website has some bugs, so they ask me to email them the HP Care Pack Registration Card, need to scan and email them.

nisah (1 posts) nisah Hi peeps! The HP Pavillion dv4-1413TX laptop you could choose to get it straight away (cash & carry) or wait 7 - 14 days to deliver to your home.

I think the HP staffs at the booth got pretty diff. messages delivered to its customers. I was ready to purchase but had no debit card and this female staff said to me that I had to wait for 7 - 14 days. I checked with the manager, she said the same thing.

So I went to atm to withdraw $1300. Went again to the booth and our eyes caught the sign 'cash & carry' so went zooming in to that section. The counter staff said "oh, after paying cash, you can carry home with you." I saw lots of boxes of hp laptops behind her. She assured me that you can DIY register yourself.

Anyway its a good deal!
posted 15 Jun 2009 - Permanent Link
Desmond (10 posts) Desmond Yes DIY Register yourself but i have encounter a problem during the registration of the HP Care Pack Services, when i key in the serial number they gave me on the cover page of the registration card, i key in accordingly and the website returns me with an error message saying that my HP Care Pack Serial Number is invalid.

So i think the best way is to contact HP for assistance.
Good Luck.

For info, the 2nd and 3rd year warranty is apply online, how about the 1st year
posted 15 Jun 2009 - Permanent Link
Desmond (10 posts) Desmond For this u have to go directly to www.hp.com.sg to register your product first.

For HP Care Pack Service i am not sure already, because for me my HP Care Pack Serial Number they say my serial number is not a valid serial number, i dunno why, so i finally contact HP and they ask me to scan and email them the Registration Card instead because they say the website has some problems.

Anyway i think is better for you to contact them on the service number that they give you.

Zzz (1 posts) Zzz i just walked straight to the booth man. Had bad experiences with Acer laptops before and i was guessing it was ddr800 so there won't be much of a difference. I'm hoping that this baby would be able to run gta iv decently; all the figures check out. But the 10 day delivery thing is just killing me...

Rosh (1 posts) Rosh Hi, I purchased a notebook today, actually they had 2 sections, from one section even if you pay in cash they will deliver after 7-14 days, but the other section you can pay in cash & take the notebook home.

As far as I know the extended warranty is not for international.

KY (1 posts) KY I bought it with cash and carry, why you guys saying need to wait 1 week, they gave 2 options i think. Its a pretty good deal i think, personally i hate acer's service and i opted for HP. Acer's one runs DDR3 ram though, but i think CPU > DDR3 ram...=( Tough choice though, since harvey norman bumped up the acer's ram to 4gb to match...

Joel (1 posts) Joel I saw the flyer as well. And after comparing flyers all night, that HP Pavilion DVr 1413tx is the best laptop considering the specs against the pricing.

I didn't know that you can't get it right away. Although, I bought a vaio a few years back and you had to do the warranty all by yourself.

Maybe they still don't have the stock with them?

angie (3 posts) angie i contemplated buying HP or Acer's aspire 4736G-863G32Mn on Friday for a good 4 hours walking up & down yesterday but decided on the Acer instead coz 1) you can't carry back this HP dv4-1413tx right away after purchasing coz they mention they need to install the warranty for you??? i can't understand & won't accept this reason 2) such good specs for only 1,299 when other brands are going for at least 2299 minimum & onwards for the same specs...
