Not only will hardcore fanatics of online gaming have plenty of reasons to rejoice at SITEX 2012, shutterbugs will also be able to shop to their hearts’ content at a dedicated Camera & Digital Media zone at Singapore’s longest-running consumer electronics and IT exhibition when it returns for the 24th time next week from 22 to 25 November at Singapore Expo Halls 4B, 5 and 6.

Online gaming addicts can look forward to cheering on 64 of the world’s best gamers from around the globe as they gather at SITEX 2012 to battle it out in two of the currently most popular online games – League of Legends and StarCraft II, through a series of tournaments to win a total prize pool of USD $82,000 (SGD,$100,000).
Hardcore gamers can also showcase their gaming talents in free plays like Unreal Tournament 3 and F1 simulators to win daily prizes of Intel® CoreTM i7 processor Extreme Edition worth SGD $1,000 each.

According to a Southeast Asian game market regional report by Niko Partners*, a market research firm, the online games market in Southeast Asia, is expected to increase more than two-fold from $400 million in 2010 to $834 million in 2014 with an estimated 90 million gamers.

For the first time in SITEX, a dedicated one-stop area for all shutterbugs’ photography needs is allocated. Not only will there be a wide showcase of the latest digital cameras, high quality tripods, camera bags and cases from more than 20 popular brands including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Samsung and many others, shutterbugs can also look forward to picking up photography techniques at free workshops conducted by the Photographic Society of Singapore. There will also be models strutting down a runway, parading the latest IT gadgets.
